Field Notes

Description:

Africa (including Madagascar), the Canary Islands, Sri Lanka, India, Burma, and China.
Wingspan: males 54–60 mm females 56–66 mm

Habitat:

Seen on the road in front of the Education Center, near the Exit Road.

Notes:

possibly Catopsilia florella, African migrant

Thanks kate... We have this one in India too, but it has a different name.
The clouded yellow seems to have two spots rather than three in the centre of the hindwing, so I think this one is the African migrant.

Well I'm not 100% sure with my suggestion that's why I post it as a comment. Whatever its just beautiful sponge bob square pants yellow.
thanks Shekai. i thought it was that also, at least it would have been in Asia! But the books here say they have Catopsilia florella - African migrant, and Colias electo electo - African clouded yellow, in this region. I'll wait to see what people from here say I think. Thanks for the input though...
