Description:

Low growing, creeping plant. Small yellow flowers with five widely placed petals. Leaves composed of three small, toothed leaflets. Produces small, red, strawberry-like fruit that are edible but mostly tasteless. Rose family.

Habitat:

Lawn area within the Bronx Zoo, New York.

Notes:

Introduced from India. Considered a weed in many places in the United States. Leaves are edible cooked.
