Field Notes

Description:

Shelf fungus. Grows in individual rounds that make up small colonies . Brown, yellow, and white coloration on rings. Firm but spongy to the touch. Strong grip on the fallen oak trunk.

Habitat:

Garth Woods, Eastchester NY. Oak tulip forest.

Notes:

Early Spring. Specimen on fallen oak trunk.
