Field Notes

Description:

Rolled wing moth of abut 8 mm in length. The outer edge of the upper wing is white. Family Crambidae.

Habitat:

Came to an ultraviolet light in the garden, San Cristobal de Las Casas, 2,200 meters.

Thank you Fyn, the different species are so much alike. It looks most like the Eastern Grass Veneer, Crambus laqueatellus, but the distribution and climate is so different from Chiapas. I agree with you to leave it at Crambus sp.
