Description:

not native to Dominica but has naturalized all over the island and is the most common orchid found

Habitat:

tropical rainforest

Notes:

This was the first orchid I spotted in Dominica. Trafalgar Falls in Morne Trois Pitons national park.

You have such good eyes!
Yeah, those rocks are huge. Sounds like you're getting a really late spring.
They must have been large rocks then in photo 3 as compared to them it looked tiny :-) even the butterflies and bees aren't out in numbers and I'm still finding some 'wintering' birds that have usually migrated by now still here!
Thanks Debbie. It's not actually that small as far as wild orchids go, about 1.5" across. You're probably right with the late start, we are experiencing that here too.
Looks very pretty and very tiny Dan! I keep trying to find one of our orchids here but I think the cold start to the year has delayed them!
