black patches around the eyes.

Habitat:

cloudforest, 2200m

Notes:

This hummingbird was taking a rest near a huge Abutilon bush near el refugio in Chicaque natural park.

I agree with Jacob. I would suggest subspecies Adelomyia melanogenys melanogenys.
