Field Notes
Description:
The males are dark, long-legged birds with massive tails that fold into a "V" shape. Their upper body, especially, is an iridescent purple. Eyes are yellow with the bill and legs being black. Females are more brown and only about half the size of the males.
Habitat:
They are widely distributed across many habitats, but are often found in city environments, agricultural areas, and riparian forests.
