Field Notes

Description:

Blooming from late spring to early summer. Inflorescences are umbels. The loose, fragrant florets with six pallid petals apiece, that are pinkish to lilac in hue.

Habitat:

Old World species of garlic native to much of Europe and the Mediterranean region, northern Africa, and western Asia; and naturalized in the Azores, and elsewhere.
