Description:

Relative of Mint, this plant is grown for pet cats, but can be found in the wild if seeds were dispersed from homes. Can have white or purple flowers.

Homes,gardens,fields,store bought

Notes:

Cats love this plant, common behaviors that are observed when around the plant are: rubbing on the plant, rolling on the ground, drooling, or consuming the plant. Catnip also has a history of human medicinal use for its soothing properties. It has also been known to have a slightly numbing effect. The plant has been consumed as a tea, juice, infusion or poultice, and has also been smoked.
