Description:

This is a female. 5 1/2"...the white wing patch is a distinctive characteristic on both male & female birds of this species

Habitat:

Barrier island: Ft.Desoto Park

Thanks Debbie...I took about 50 horrible shots of warblers yesterday...so, I'll agree with you on that! Leuba, refers to the male...here's a link to a male I had a couple of weeks ago. I guess the males migrate first as a group & then come the females. http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/21578199
Everything about the photos is just beautiful, Claire. Wonder why this warbler is called "black-throated" ?
Such small birds are so hard to get good photos of but these are Great! :-)
