Field Notes

Description:

The Ryelands are one of the oldest breeds of British sheep, their name comes from the fields of Rye where the monks used to keep them centuries ago, these ones are used by the Rutland water nature reserve to help keep the grass short as they rarely need any other supplements and also make good mothers and have great quality wool.
