Field Notes

Description:

A large spider, about the size of a quarter, brown. It appears to be attached to a round white mass...possibly an egg sack?

Habitat:

New raised flower bed which contained dirt only.

Notes:

I was in the process of planting flowers and saw what I thought was a white piece of potting soil material. I touched it with the trowel in an attempt to remove it and it moved! I realized it was attached to a darn good sized spider. My action was the only one I could take at that point....I ran for the camera.
