Am thinking this is a young cardinal of some kind from the head, but not sure.

Habitat:

Was eating seeds out of our bird feeder on the porch

I believe you may be correct, sure does look like it thanks. We have a lot of those around our house. Was just thinking they were young cardinals because we have cardinals during the summer months.
