Description:

single flower stalk growing out of a pair of leaves

cloudforest, 2200m

Notes:

I only saw this plant once in Chicaque natural park. By the way it was growing it looks like it could be a bulb of some type. Never thought this was an orchid.

Thanks Craig, I never thought this was an orchid, but your ID looks right. I didn't think anyone would be jealous of this spot!
correction. not tuberous, wrong subfamily. boy i'm all over the place tonight. I'm going back to the house work!
Love this kind of strange little tuberous terrestrial
Ha! I was right all along! I'm pretty sure it's Malaxis crispifolia!
Ah okay, too bad, thought I had another orchid. I have added 2 close up pics if that helps, I've just cropped the main image.
Actually, scrub that.Looking at the way the flowers are inserted, its probably not an orchid
Hey Dan, did you get any close ups (can you zoom in any more?) of the flower? I think this could well be another orchid. I've seen a south american terrestrial with this kind of inflorescence before. My minds gone blank though & the Terrestrial Orchid Forum Gallery is down, so will have to see if it comes back to me......
