Field Notes

Description:

Bright yellow flowers, about an 2 inches in diameter, center of flower about 1/2 inch in diameter, plants fairly tall, about 24-30 inches in height. Petals look like 2 petals fused together, they indent at the top. Strange looking leaves, very thin, no webbing between veins. They look like weeds. The stems are also very thin.

Habitat:

Tecolote Canyon, San Diego, CA. Dry, usually dry, warm, desert area. However, has been very rainy, cloudy, and cold this week.
