still waiting. They ID another one I posted. This one must of stumped them.
Good idea! After screening all kind of moths on bugguide I finally was desperate since I did not find any close match, but I certainly have missed one. For checking a tough one my iPad is probably not really the best device...
Pretty close but I submitted it to the BAMONA to see what they say.
But, please, check the link before! I am not 102% sure!!
Thank you Bayucca. I'll change when I get on a computer.
Geometridae, Larentiinae, that's I am sure about. I checked several families and hundreds of picture, no reasonable match, looking carefully at the shape if the middle band with these 2 curves, the upper dark band. Tons of similar ones but you can kick off quite a lot and at the end you have an empty screen. Finally I found a perfect match with almost all criteria, but I am not yet 100% convinced and happy, but it is my very best and good night guess: Carsia sororiata. Look carefully at each marking and pattern and ignore the contrast and colors (and some tiny details ;-)...). Tough one!! I am wondering what you think about it! http://bugguide.net/node/view/307276/bgpage
