Description:
a older jackrabbit that lives year round in my neighbourhood.
Habitat:
an older city community, so larger yards that are unfenced. it is sort of close to the river valley, about 3 or 4 blocks but you have to cross 2 busy avenues to get there so i do not know if he travels that far very often. For shelter he sometimes hides under trailers or old cars & things like that.
Notes:
i have seen other rabbits in this area, but this guy is the one seen most often. he is pretty large and has distinctive ears.
he is not too scared of people, if you move slowly you can get a good look at him without him running away. sometimes however he will try to get big and intimidating by standing up as tall as he can on all 4 legs, this looks pretty amusing because his hind legs are so long and thin when stretched out tall.
