Field Notes

Description:

The flower is about 4.5cm in diameter and the stem stands about 13cm tall. The petals are bright purple has straight striation and the center is bright yellow with pollen. It is a six pedaled flowers (monocot).

Habitat:

This flowering plant was found in Tecolote Canyon. The area was surrounded by weeds and grasses. The plant receives full sunlight and the ground was dry and rocky.
