Also known as a Scarlet Skimmer. Both these names are used elsewhere for different species, hence the use of Scientific names for clarity.

Thanks Scott, page updated. Common names are just that. With African birds they are a nightmare. In South Africa they get changed "officially" every few years. You can tell how long people have been birding there by the names they use!
