Description:
Woodland strawberry fruit is strongly flavoured, and is still collected and grown for domestic use and on a small scale commercially for the use of gourmets and as an ingredient for commercial jam, sauces, liqueurs, cosmetics and alternative medicine. It has a very pretty dainty white flower with a bright yellow 'eye' with very distinct leaves.
Habitat:
seen growing in the woodlands of Potteric Carr, owned by the Yorkshire wildlife trust.
