Field Notes

Description:

I am freaked out by bugs with a lot of legs, but this is colorful. my mind is confused
@Billo: I really do not know, it should be easy since it is quite common and have distinctive markings different to the other most common ones, however, nymphs are usually tricky to ID.
Why nobody wants to ID this bug? @bayucca :(
Coreidae, Thasus sp. Unfortunately nobody wants to ID this one. There are 2 common ones in Mexico: Thasus neocalifornicus, the Giant Mesquite Bug and Thasus acutangulus, both are sometimes called Giant Mesquite Bug. But they look different to yours! Thasus is certainly correct, but the species is unknown: http://www.whatsthatbug.com/2012/09/23/giant-mesquite-bug-nymph-from-mexico/ http://johnbokma.com/mexit/2010/06/07/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/apollo_musagete/5788904041/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/llema/503677960/ Other ones: http://foter.com/photo/chinche-gigante-del-mezquite-thasus-acutangulus-cozumel-quintana-roo-mexico/ http://bugguide.net/node/view/676127 PLEASE, ADD THE CORRECT COMMON NAME: Leaf-footed Bug Nymph!
