Field Notes

Description:

An extremely large female Katydid of about 8 cm in length. It had a white stripe on the face and an orange band along the lower edge of the upper wing. The wing pattern was also unique. The ovipositor was very small for such a large Katydid. Family Tettigoniidae.

Habitat:

Came to the lights of the Highway Toll Booth outside Arriaga, Chiapas.
