Field Notes

Description:

This bird was not very large, but was about a foot tall from the top of the head to the bottom of his feet. Although this one is seen alone, they were in a small group of roughly three. They were definitely beach wading birds. I did not see them fly. There coloring is largely grey, black and white. Very long downward curving beak.
