There is a miss-spelling in the scientific name for the Pekin Duck ID, internet search shows it as Anas platyrhynchos. Lovely photo though :-)
This is a Pekin Duck (domestic duck). Bred from Mallard ducks in China for poultry and eggs. They are too heavy to fly. I had one as a pet for five years! They often end up in the wild when someone gets one for Easter as a chick and finds that they grow to adult size in about six weeks! They are then "dumped" in ponds because people assume that that's their natural habitat. Some do survive In the wild but many don't because of predators that they are unable to escape from. They do make great pets if you have the knowledge and patience for them.
