Wolf Spider
Pardosa sp.
41.6192, -81.4214
Field Notes
Description:
Small gray spider with four prominent black dots on its back. I see a great many of these spiders on the rocky/sandy shores of rivers and streams. They are very quick, hop, and walk on water.
There is some debate as to whether this is Dolomedes Fishing spider) or Pardosa (wolf spider). It is either a Chocolate-brown Ifshing Spider or Thin-legged Wolf Spider as best I can tell.
Habitat:
Rocky/sandy shore of a brook running through a deciduous forest. Gully Brook Park, Lake Metroparks System, Willoughby, Ohio, USA.
