Field Notes

Description:

Small mushroom, up to 10cm tall, and no more than 3 cm in diameter. White large gills underneath, creamish to whitish above; stalks brown-grey - unlike other Mycenas, this one has no pointed hat.

Habitat:

Foothills of Jura mountain range; forested area of local town park, forest floor among the decaying organic matter.

Notes:

Some resources state it as toxic, containing small quantities of muscarine.
