Field Notes

Description:

I love the big yellow and orange flowers of the tulip poplar - the orange almost seems to glow! These are the tallest of eastern hardwoods.

Habitat:

Native from southern New England and New York westward to southern Michigan, and south to Louisiana and northern Florida. It prefers deep, rich, and rather moist soil.

Notes:

Spotted at Wrens Park Playground in Kennesaw, GA
