Field Notes

Description:

I first spotted a pair of red-tailed hawks in my backyard in February. I was aware of them nesting in my backyard since then, and have been eagerly awaiting the first hint of babies. Since February, some tree limbs have grown up which partially obstruct my view, and there's no way to move or remove them without disturbing the hawks. I was finally rewarded with my first glimpse of what I think is one nestling on this day!

Habitat:

Spotted in my backyard.
