Description:

I'm thinking Zingiberaceae, maybe a type of Costus?

Habitat:

cloudforest, 2200m

Notes:

I spotted this in Chicaque natural park, it was the only one I spotted in the park in a very shady and wet area.

Yes Dan, Costus is what comes to my mind. It has appendaged bracts so that is the first "branch" to key it out...I tried but didn't come up with anything. I found some promising links though!
