Description:

Beautiful! The Northern Flicker is the only brown-backed Woodpeckers. The male has a red mark on the back of the head. To 13 inches. Conspicuous white rump when the bird flew up and flashes of bright yellow under the wings and tail. Close-up, a wide black crescent shows across the breast. Male has black whiskers.
