Description:

Only seen in England since 1989 the little Egret is also listed as am amber species for Britain and there are only thought to be around 142 breeding pairs here although there are more seen in winter when birds arrive from the continent. You can see this male here agitating the water with its feet to stir up any frogs or small fish (photo 5)

Habitat:

seen at Rutland water nature reserve.
