Description:

glossy, colourful plumage and sleek crest (National Geographic)

Habitat:

nests in tree cavities and prefers to be above 20 feet high, even up to 60 feet high. The ducklings jump out of the cavity at only hours old and are led to water immediately. Quite a thing to start life out in a free-fall of over 20 feet....
