Field Notes

Description:

small male, bright blue. seems injured and couldnt fly

Notes:

Seeing as i could walk right up to the bird, i brought him in, hopefully preventing an easy meal or roadkill.

With nothing visibly wrong with the bird, I judged that it just needed some time to recooperate. We kept him for a week until he looked much better and very antsy, and so we brought him back where we found him and he took off like a dart. :)

He did so well!!!! So proud of him! We had no problem getting him to eat when he was in captivity either. I'd say our first attempt at bird rescuing was a success!

I hope he is okay (I had similar experience with Indigo bunting, but luckily, he was okay and flew away).

Beautiful bird!! Did you take it to your local rehabilitation center?? This bird would probably not survive if left out, and your local rehabber would take it in. Please if you still can, do so! Thanks!
