Description:

Approximately 7 month old female lion cub.

Habitat:

Curiously examining a tree in the subtropical bush veld of the Kruger National Park.

Notes:

Even as young as this, one still feels intimidated by the sheer power and size. A true hunter in the making!

Aaaah, Im so sorry Ashley! How long where you in the Kruger and what camps did you stay? This series was photographed early morning - sometimes the best time to see them, however luck plays a big part!

Thanks staccyh, she was not looking at anything particular, the pride was on the move, and the four young cubs where intrigued by our presence and I felt the sense that they were playful and 'naughty' - looking at us way too long till mom made a sound and the young ones ran after them...
