Field Notes

Description:

Body: 3-4"
Tail: 4-5" (Long for this species, with no evidence of breakage for survival of vicious bird attack)
Markings: Dusty golden underbelly, dirt-like brown body with black spots that are tipped with white. Very effective camouflage.

Habitat:

Tall grass, forest floor.

Notes:

Met this little bastard in the middle of the lumber yard. Had to scoop him up and put him back outside the yard before he got smashed by a forklift or eaten by a raven.
