Rob, I was taking a closer look at this image. I think this is a Mantid species and not a Mantid Lacewing. The way the raptorial legs are held and the shape of the body say Mantid. It looks like your insect has abdominal cerci, which I don't think Mantid Lacewings have. The Mantispidae seem to have a more cylindrical shape to the thorax and seem to have their wings arranged more to the sides (like other lacewings and reminds me of cicadas as well) rather than flat as on yours. http://www.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http%3A%2F%2F4.bp.blogspot.com%2F-7gyA7FLvmfY%2FTZBNRuJ9fzI%2FAAAAAAAAF80%2FkmgKhQejuLY%2Fs1600%2FMantispidae%252Bsp.%252B%252B009.jpg&imgrefurl=http%3A%2F%2Fesperancewildlife.blogspot.com%2F2011%2F03%2Fmantid-lacewing-mantispidae-sp.html&h=624&w=643&tbnid=neON0NORPRf_tM%3A&zoom=1&docid=-6IwHIZgiGHEvM&ei=ubGhU5iJDsWvyATv5oAo&tbm=isch&client=firefox-a&ved=0CC4QMygSMBI&iact=rc&uact=3&dur=401&page=1&start=0&ndsp=24 That being said, I agree with mark that this looks like a recently moulted insect, but I don't know genus or species for this. Whatever species it is, it is beautiful!
Yes looks Mantispidae. Very pale... maybe recently moulted? Good find.
