Field Notes

Description:

This sub-adult Argiope luzona is smaller than the specimen shown in my earlier spotting, today - https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/576040843... It is probably safe to assume that this one is also younger, but the web decoration of this smaller spider is bigger and more complicated.

Habitat:

Spotted this morning in our backyard. This spider's web was moored, about 8 ft. up, on the stem of a banana plant.

Notes:

Just in case this spider looks slightly different from the other one spotted earlier this morning - https://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/576040843... the reason is that the earlier spider is on the front of its web, with its back to the camera. The spider in the picture shown here has shuttled to the back of its web and is, therefore, showing its underside to the camera.
