Field Notes

Description:

Medium size Dove. Red eye, black beak. Small black half collar. Plumage is White under with pale gray, pale lavender tint wings. Black tips or black flight feathers.

Habitat:

Trees near the bay. On the beach.

Notes:

I spotted this bird well hidden in a tree. It was one of a pair frequenting the beach, mostly staying in rocky areas and driftwood or near the beach in evergreen trees. I did hear this bird making a Coo sound.
This bird has red eyes and a pale lavender tint on the gray plumage. A black half collar is visible. I thought the pair to be Doves or Collared Doves of some type.
