Field Notes

Description:

This is a First winter Yellow rumped Flycatcher (Male) - 2nd pic. It is migrates in winter south to S. China, South East Asia and Greater Sundas. Small Flycatcher (13cm) yellow and black (male) or brown (female). On the male has a yellow rump, throat, breast and upper belly, lower belly and undertail coverts white, otherwise black except for white supercilium and wing bar. The 1st picture is a full adult Yellow rumped Flycather (male)

Habitat:

Wooded area, open forest.

Notes:

Uncommon winter visitor up to 900 m. Very rare in Java and Bali. First time I found it, still wasn't grow completely. Every week I was coming there, to see how they develope with their plumage. They were always around on the same area. It might be about 4 weeks in a row, I saw them.
