Field Notes

Description:

Uknown fungi I found while on a walk

Habitat:

Found growing between two evergreen bushes in someone's front yard.

Notes:

At first I thought this was a jelly or wood ear but upon further investigation that is unlikely as it appears to have gills underneath (thanks Randy!).

I can't really tell what's going on in that photo, but it looks more like a gilled mushroom of some kind decomposing than it does a wood ear.
