Field Notes
Description:
A small Sparrow, easily identified by its black and white stripped crown. The throat is whitish, underparts are grey.
Habitat:
Breeding in northern Canada and western United States brushy areas.
Wintering in southern United States and Mexico.
Notes:
A flock of White-crowned sparrows stopped on their way back North to their breeding areas. They stayed almost one week, feeding in the backyard, and finally took off yesterday.
