Field Notes

Description:

A very common sitting across all of the british Isles but the blackbird has a very lovely melodic song that you can often hear wherever you go. This one was diggig up worms in the soft wet grass on a cricket field, it didn't eat the worm but flew off with it so I am assuming it was for his chicks.

Habitat:

seen next to the River Eden in Appleby in westmorland
