Field Notes

Description:

Lepidoptera, family Nymphalidae. Approximately 4 cm in length, very well camouflaged over the trees. In this case over a rusty 8 inches oil pipe.

Habitat:

The picture was taken in Jujuy, in Caimancito. this was the first time I found this butterfly in this province. Usually, they are reported in Misiones or in the Mesopotamia provinces.
