Field Notes

Description:

Another, more spectacular, fruiting of the parasitic oak conk. Many individual fruit-bodies easily exceed a foot in width.

Habitat:

Right across from Comstock Riverside Park

Notes:

Can't be certain if this tree was killed by the fungi but considering all the other spottings I've had of this fungi, I'm inclined to believe it probably did.
