Description:

Occurs in (sub) tropical Asia and the Pacific (but an invasive in the US), found in coastal and sub-montane forest gaps, "most common in heavily degraded forests. Often along roads and in clearings. Common along rivers, on hillsides and on ridges." An edible (fruits) and medicinal (roots, leaves) plant (toothache, wounds, stomach problems).

Habitat:

At the junction of the boardwalk and a forest trail at MacRitchie Reservoir Park, Singapore.
