I checked all the possibilites, but did still not find a reasonable match. Definitely not a Filodes sp. Personally I would go with Crambidae, Pyraustinae. Could be Pyraustini or Spilomelini, but Pyraustinae is safe.
Maybe just leave it at Pyraloidea... ? bayucca?
I start to think is imposiblle to know which is the name of this princess, Do you believe is correct if we leave it like filodes Sp?
Ha, ha haaa... Leana, I'm living here almost a year ago and everybody knows me. Very good people in Santa Ana. I'm happy here :)
Hahaahaaa! You're right!. In this pic the problem was people. Someones looked at me when I was on my knees against the wall and he approached to see what I was doing... He waved away the moth! :(
I know how that works with lepidoptera hunting! Sometimes you have only one chance, like James Bond and you have to take what you got ;-)...
Saddly, Bayucca, is this the only pic I have taken. Color are very close to the real color, was really "electric" blue. Sorry...
Definitely Pyraloidea, I would tend to Crambidae, Pyraustinae, Spilomelini, but I am not 100% sure. Looks at first sight similar to Filodes sp., but this would have spots on the body, yours not and I did not find any reasonable match with full yellow body. Looks also like you had used flash. Do you have any other shot without flash to show the natural colors and shades?
