Description:

This plant is an epiphyte, and is not parasitic upon a host. It lives upon rain, leaf and insect detritus. It has two types of leaves, one of which forms a large ball of layers around its base. It can grow to develop a ball several feet thick, and span 10 feet. It can tolerate light frost with minor damage, and prefers sheltered, shady locations.
