Green Darners are much bigger, they have a distinctive eye like mark on the top of their nose between their eyes - http://bugguide.net/node/view/10603

Ken has your ID. Females and young males are green with square blackish spots on the abdomen. Males become pruinose blue with white claspers and a green face.
