Field Notes

Description:

A Tree Frog about 5 cm long with gold and black eyes. The upper side was brown and lumpy, the underside cream colored. This is the juvenile.

Habitat:

It was hunting insects around a garden light. Las Guacamayas Eco-Lodge, Lacantun River, Chiapas, Mexico. It was jumping between Heliconia plants and the wooden walkway with lights.

That one doesn't have warty enough skin, though you are correct that the pattern in similar :)
Thank you Ashley! Is this then the adult of the Pepper Tree Frog (http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/238016044/fullscreen)? This one was in the same area doing the same thing as the juvenile. It looks like the picture on your reference.
Very cool frog! This is a juvenile, the adults usually have some dark brown patterning on the back :)
This is beautiful. They have the most incredible eyes.
