Field Notes

Description:

A very small agaric, approximately 10 mm diameter waxy cap. No apparent ring on stem.

Habitat:

Moist shady area with plenty of leaf-litter and decaying organic matter.

Notes:

Very small! A comparison photo included, relative to index fingernail. Stem is long/tall comparative to cap.

Hygrophorus miniatus is now known as Hygrocybe miniata. It could be a Hygrocybe species, however I am leaning towards a Mycena such as M. viscidocruenta
Thanks Jared! I'll update my information to incorporate your comments, especially the 'waxy cap' bit.
Possibly Hygrophorus miniatus or a similar 'waxy cap' species. Amazing color! Nice find.
